I heard a gospel version by Johnny Cash the other day. However I also remember there's a very powerful roots reggae version by Joseph Hill's Group <I>Culture</I>. Reggae music itself has a long association with American Gospel and Country. This work tows the line of some brilliant poems I read when i got involved with poetry as a teenager. It&#39;s a kind of poem whose standard would let me reckon: &#39;no, I&#39;m not a born-poet. let me forget it&#39;. Interestingly, it&#39;s also the sort of poem that will energise me to revise my scripts. In brief terms, Prince is a master of composition.
